World Tuberculosis (TB) Day
In accordance with the recommendations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia joins the marking of March 24 – World Tuberculosis Day under the motto: “Invest to end TB. Save lives”
TB remains the deadliest killer in the world. Every day, over 4,000 people lose their lives from TB, and nearly 30,000 people get this preventable and curable disease. Tuberculosis mainly affects adults in the most productive years. However, all age groups are at risk.
On the occasion of the World TB Day, on March 24the the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje will distribute posters and announcements on social media on the importance of timely prevention and early diagnosis of Tuberculosis in order to accelerate efforts to end the global TB epidemic.
