18th October – International Anti – Trafficking Day

Trafficking is a complex phenomenon about serious violation of human rights, which has negative impact on the communities, public health and last but not least it is offense. Trafficking is problem which requires joint and unified approach from appropriate relevant institutions, to be eradicated. As a member of the Secretariat of the National Commission for anti-trafficking and illegal migration, Macedonian Red Cross through implementation of preventive activities it is contributing to the fight against this global problem which is reflecting in Macedonia.
Therefore, Macedonian Red Cross will again commemorate 18th of October – International Anti – Trafficking Day, by organizing preventive activities through City Red Cross of Skopje and Red Cross Branches Kavadarci, Bitola, Ohrid, Kumanovo, Stip, Strumica, Debar and Struga.
Totally 14 peer workshops will be organized for youth in primary and secondary schools, for more than 350 students. The goal of the preventive lecturers is to raise the awareness of youth, recognize the means of how they can be involved in trafficking and their self – protection.
