Macedonian Red Cross support the migrants
Macedonian Red Cross in cooperation with UNHCR and other partners is actively involved in provision of support to migrants that transit through the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonian Red Cross has 24/7 presence with 9 mobile teams at the two border crossings in Gevgelija and Tabanovce. The teams are comprised of doctors and paramedics and Red Cross first aiders. There are 41 members in the mobile teams. The operation is also supported by 30 Red Cross staff. In the period of September 07-13 Macedonian Red Cross has distributed as follows: 14.563 bottles of water (1,5 l), 1060 food parcels, 343 hygiene parcels, 116 baby parcels, 929 blankets. Total of 5457 persons were provided with first aid and 9 persons were transported to the nearest hospital.
