Trained BOCA facilitators and carried out assessment in 3 Red Cross branches

Training for facilitators for the implementation of the Branch organizational capacities assessment was held in the period 21-26.06.2023 at the Hotel Solferino Struga. The training was attended by 9 selected representatives of the Red Cross of RSN. The Branch organizational capacities assessment (BOCA) is an instrument developed by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which aims, through a structured way, to enable self-assessment of the Red Cross branches in 34 organizational areas in the operation, to recognize the level at which it is in the context of these areas, to determine priorities for development for the coming year and to prepare a plan for the development of the Red Cross branches.

Special support was provided to the workshop by the IFRC office in Budapest and the IFRC office for the Southeast Europe cluster in Sarajevo.

After the three-day training, on June 24 and 25, 2023, an assessment was conducted in the RC branches of Bitola, Prilep and Struga through the active participation of local teams of 10 members in each RC branches composed of volunteers, members and employees.

On June 26, 2023, the BOCA facilitators conducted an evaluation of the field experience and agreed on the next steps for the implementation of the entire BOCA instrument.
